I have been watching the gavel to gavel coverage of the GOP convention not missing a single word. Overall it’s been an uplifting experience. With a late, and slow low key start I have watched the speakers slowly rise in impact, substance and energy. Last night Paul Ryan the GOP vice-presidential candidate wrapped up the days activities with a speech that absolutely nailed it. He laid out the agenda, and outlined the needed course for the future. Mr. Ryan begs to take on the tough economic issues that the current administration seems content to ignore. Mr. Ryan surely brought it home last night receiving accolades from even the liberal media on at least delivery and substance. So what’s left for Mitt?
Tonight will close the convention. After a list of notable and powerful speakers we will finally hear from the GOP presidential nominee. That will be a speech that no one should miss. The bar has been set, and it’s a high one. Expect Mitt Romney to bring it home in a way we never thought he could. Mr. Romney has no choice but to hurdle the bar set by speakers that have moved the delegates with insight, truth, and emotion.
An earth moving performance tonight is in order. Anything else would be a disappointment.
