Katy Perry’s AMA Geisha outfit sparks backlash — 7 Comments

  1. I would have posted the Miley Cyrus video for comparison purposes but if you haven’t seen it by now there’s no need to see it at all. The picture is enough. The video doesn’t deserve the back link from this site. It’s not fit for our pages.

  2. Actually, what the complainers meant to call it was “sexist”, but these are grossly ignorant, as well as brainwashed, dolts. Geishas were trained to serve men, more as providing graceful companionship than for sex, so that makes any reference to them that is even slightly positive completely verboten among the Ignorami who comprise the “progressive”, or moonbeam, nation.

    • A charge of sexist would at least make a bit more sense. Although I find it difficult for a woman to commite a sexist act that targets women. To the best of my knowledge the “geisha culture” was never something that the Japanese tried to hide or thought as “taudry”. I in no way claim to know a lot about it but I have to admit the concept is intriguing. I guess I’m just a sexist.

      • You’re right, as far as my knowledge extends. It wasn’t tawdry, it was an excellent career choice for a woman, involving extensive training and leading to high status and income.
Katy Perry wasn’t committing a sexist act, but the femagogues would, in their customary knee-jerk fashion, view it as that.
